How do I forward my phone to Ringmate?
iPhone: Settings โ Phone โ Call Forwarding โ toggle on โ enter the Ringmate number we assigned you.
Android: Phone app โ Settings โ Supplemental Services โ Forward when unanswered โ enter the Ringmate number.
Business VoIP (RingCentral, Google Voice, Vonage, Grasshopper): Look for "Forward unanswered calls" in your admin panel and enter the Ringmate number there.
I forwarded my phone but I'm not getting auto-replies. What's wrong?
Try this checklist:
- Confirm your forwarding rule is set to "When unanswered", not "Always" โ otherwise every call rings directly to Ringmate without ringing your phone first.
- Test by calling your real business number from a different phone and letting it ring through.
- Make sure your subscription is active (free trial or paid) โ Ringmate stops auto-replies if a subscription lapses.
- Check that the caller used a mobile phone โ SMS cannot be delivered to landlines.
Still not working? Email us with the time of your test call and we'll look it up in the logs.
How do I customize the SMS message?
Log in to your dashboard at app.getringmate.com โ Settings โ Message Template. Pro plan customers can fully customize the text. Basic plan uses our default template (still includes your business name automatically).
Billing
How do I cancel my subscription?
Log in to your dashboard โ Billing โ Cancel Subscription. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period โ you keep access until then.
Do you offer refunds?
We do not refund partial months, but you keep full access through the end of your billing period after cancellation. If you were charged in error, email us within 7 days and we'll make it right.
How do I update my payment method?
Dashboard โ Billing โ Update Payment โ opens the Stripe billing portal. You can change your card, view past invoices, and download receipts from there.
Privacy & Compliance
Is Ringmate compliant with SMS regulations?
Yes. Ringmate is registered through Twilio's A2P 10DLC program โ the carrier-approved framework for business SMS in the United States. Every message we send includes opt-out instructions, and we maintain a permanent suppression list for any number that replies STOP.
What happens if a caller doesn't want to be texted?
They reply STOP to any Ringmate message. We immediately add their number to a suppression list and they will never receive another Ringmate SMS from any of our customers, ever.

All data is stored on encrypted infrastructure in the United States. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
